SCSQL Remote Verification fails with error: Could not open new Database

  • SnapCenter Plug-In for SQL (SCSQL) 4.1 and higher

Issue

  • Remote verification failing with error (GUI) - "Could not open new Database"
     
  • SMCore logs from verification host shows the error:
    ERROR SMCore_2984 PID=[13728] TID=[61] [Verification] Backup verification failed for '<database_path>' database with below error.
    A database snapshot cannot be created because it failed to start.
    A database snapshot cannot be created because it failed to start.
    CREATE FILE encountered operating system error 5(Access is denied.) while attempting to open or create the physical file '<file_path>'


    SQL Error log:
    spid145     CREATE FILE encountered operating system error 5(Access is denied.) while attempting to open or create the physical file '<file_path>'.
    Logon       Error: 18456, Severity: 14, State: 5.
    Logon       Login failed for user '<username>'. Reason: Could not find a login matching the name provided. [CLIENT: <local machine>]
