  • Running a backup on an Exchange Server fails with the error - 

Activity 'Creating Backup' failed with error: Failed to create VSS snapshot [Error Code: -2147212524] [VSS_E_HOLD_WRITES_TIMEOUT] [Error Code: -2147212524] [VSS_E_HOLD_WRITES_TIMEOUT]
Activity 'Registering Backup and Applying Retention' failed with error: Failed to register backup metadata, backup metadata is null or empty.
