Answer

Restoring virtual machine (VM) using a backup taken before VMware Storage vMotion is supported unless VM is in transit.

Notes:

  • Restoring applications such as SQL Server (using SnapCenter Plug-in for Microsoft SQL Server (SCSQL)) and Oracle Database (using SnapCenter Plug-in for Oracle Database (SCO)) is not supported after VMware Storage vMotion.
  • Restore is not possible if the Moref ID is changed by vMotion (Like cross vCenter vMotion).
