SnapCenter Plug-in for Exchange (SCE)

Answer

  • SnapCenter treats each SERVER\Database as a separate entity and applies retention accordingly
    • SERVER1\DB1 and SERVER2\DB1 are the same database but on different servers
    • SnapCenter will treat each as individual entities and keep retention separately for each database copy
    • If a database copy is active on SERVER1 and is then activated on SERVER2, retention will not be applied on SERVER1 until the next backup runs on SERVER1
