AIQUM fails to add ONTAP cluster due to unavailability of ONTAPI service
Applies to
- Active IQ Unified Manager (AIQUM) 9.14
- Active IQ Unified Manager (AIQUM) 9.16 and Cloud Agent is disabled
- ONTAP 9.14 and later
- Any of the following conditions are met:
- ONTAPI service is disabled on ONTAP cluster
- Account for monitoring does not have ONTAPI application capability
Issue
- Adding ONTAP cluster to AIQUM fails by error although AIQUM 9.14 in combination with ONTAP 9.14 or later can utilize REST API to monitor a cluster
- ONTAPI service is disabled on ONTAP cluster
Unexpected HTTP response code received for net-interface-get-iter from <hostname or ip>: 404 - Account for monitoring does not have ONTAPI application capability
Authentication to Storage System <Hostname or IP> as user <account used to add the cluster> failed. Response code:401
- ONTAPI service is disabled on ONTAP cluster
- AIQUM 9.16 with disabled Cloud Agent fails to add ONTAP cluster by error:
Unable to add cluster data source. This can occur if the clocks on the systems are not synchronized and the Unified Manager HTTPS certificate start date is later than the date on the cluster, or if the cluster has reached the maximum number of EMS notification destinations.

server_acq.logindicates the error:
ONTAPI has been proactively suspended on this cluster due to inactivity as this feature is deprecated. Use the "system services web ontapi modify" CLI command to un-suspend ONTAPI. (errno=61253) (errno=0)
