Unable to add cluster with Ontapi service disabled or missing the Ontapi application in Active Unified Manager

Issue

  • Active IQ Unified Manager 9.14 in combination with Ontap 9.14 or newer can utilize REST to monitor a cluster.
  • Despite support for monitoring a cluster via REST it can fail to add a cluster when either is true.
    • The Ontapi service is disabled.
      • Unexpected HTTP response code received for net-interface-get-iter from <hostname or ip>: 404
    • The account used for monitoring doesn't have the Ontapi application assigned to it.
      • Authentication to Storage System <Hostname or IP> as user <account used to add the cluster> failed. Response code:401
