  • ONTAP 9.12
  • Primary-Mirror-Vault [PMV] relationship
  • Commvault [CV]

Issue

Issues observed with PMV relationships in ONTAP 9.12

Note: Only PMV relartionships are affected by it.

  1.  Error seen in AIQUM and Commvault jobs "Support for SnapMirror-then-SnapVault cascades requires SnapMirror-Snapshot-Owner to be managed by a single storage service error"
  2.   Primary source volume snapshot owner was created with "OCUM_9007=snapmirrorSnapshotOwner" which are causing issue when its time to delete them.
    • AIQUM cannot delete the snapshots with owner name "OCUM_9007=snapmirrorSnapshotOwner" as the "snapmirror-snapshot-owner-destroy" zapi considers it as an invalid owner name. As described by ONTAP doc, owner names should consists of character A-Z, a-z, 0-9 and only special char "_". Hence its rejecting "=" in snapshot owner name
