AIQUM upgrade fails to proceed without enabling periodic AutoSupport

  • Active IQ Unified Manager 9.x (AIQUM)
  • All OS platforms (Windows/RedHat Linux/OVA)
  • Upgrade from the maintenance console

Issue

  • During an AIQUM upgrade from the maintenance console, AutoSupport is mandatory to be enabled if disabled manually
  • The upgrade script inserts a mandatory AutoSupport consent step where only accepted answer is y
  • The upgrade does not continue until AutoSupport is accepted even if sending ASUP is not required
  • Console text:
AutoSupport

AutoSupport is a service that sends periodic data to NetApp Active IQ.
...
AutoSupport will be enabled on this system.
You can disable AutoSupport at a later time from under 'Settings->General'.
Enter y to Agree and Continue:
  • Secure environment customers who must not send AutoSupport data off-site, cannot complete the upgrade without agreeing to enable AutoSupport
