What does subsequent releases mean in Fixed in Version
Applies to
- ONTAP
- Public Report
- Fixed in Version
Answer
A defect listing it is fixed in all subsequent releases indicates this is the latest version at the time of bug fix release, and all following major releases and their P patches will contain the fix.
Example 1
- A fix lists as "9.3RC1 and all subsequent releases" - means that it is also fixed in 9.4, 9.5, 9.6 all the way to the current release.
- In this case no 9.2Px release is lower and does not have the fix
Example 2
- In this example all releases higher than 9.15.1 have the fix. for example: 9.16.1
- Also 9.14.1P2 to 9.14P4 as well as 9.13.1P9 and 9.12.1P12 have the fix
- New fix releases for the releases prior to 9.15.1 will get added as they become available
Note: In this example, 9.14.1P2 to 9.14.1P4 was released chronologically later than 9.14.1RC1 and included the fix. Also, backporting to a major ONTAP release earlier than 9.11.1 was determined uneccessary or, architecturally, not possible.
