Issue

This knowledge base article clarifies the Adobe Flash deprecation impact on NetApp® OnCommand® Unified Manager 5.x and offer available mitigation.

NetApp OnCommand Unified Manager 5.x is centralized, multi-system storage management software that provides comprehensive monitoring and reporting capabilities for NetApp storage systems that run NetApp ONTAP® data management software. Adobe will end support for Flash Player on December 31, 2020. As a result, Adobe Flash support will be removed from web browsers. For more details, refer the Adobe Flash Player EOL General Information Page here.

Impact:

NetApp OnCommand Unified Manager 5.x depends on Adobe Flash Player to draw the statistical graphs of various reports. If a browser lacks Flash support, some of the graphical representations displayed in the web UI do not work as intended.

Note: The impact of this Adobe Flash support deprecation is limited to only OnCommand Unified Manager 5.x. It does not affect OnCommand Unified Manager 6.x or later versions or NetApp Active IQ® Unified Manager 9.6 or later versions.
