ONTAP PANIC occurs due to TPM interrupt clear failure

  • NetApp ONTAP 9.11.1P17
  • AFF, ASA, and FAS platforms with TPM (Trusted Platform Module) chip.
  • Systems with Service Processor (SP) / Baseboard Management Controller (BMC)

Issue

  • Controller PANIC occurs, and HA takeover is triggered.

PANIC: tpm20_intr: Failed to clear TPM interrupt 0xFFFFFFFF after max loop. in process irq10: tpm0 on release 9.11.1P17 (C)

  • No other hardware errors were observed in the BMC logs.
  • The Core file was not generated successfully.
