Usually, no—if Auto-Assign is enabled and the replacement disk is detected as Ready/Unconfigured Good,

the controller typically handles rebuild and spare usage automatically.

  • The following command can be used to check the Auto Assign setting.
    cluster1::> storage disk option show
    Node           BKg. FW. Upd.  Auto Copy     Auto Assign   Auto Assign Policy
