Altavault SMB shares are inaccessible

Issue

  • While using net use command to mount the smb share, it fails:
C:\>net use g: \\AVA-name\share /user:username pass
System error 121 has occurred.
The semaphore timeout period has expired.
  • Following errors are seen in the AVA message logs:
smbd[24687]: [ldap_dc_utils.ERR] (24883) Could not bind to ldap://DOMAIN-NAME error -1
smbd[24687]: [ldap_dc_utils.INFO] (24883) Connecting to ldap://X.X.X.X ....
smbd[24687]: [ldap_dc_utils.INFO] (24883) Connected to ldap://X.X.X.X
smbd[24687]: [ldap_dc_utils.ERR] (24883) No results returned
smbd[24687]: [object/domain_controller.ERR] (24883) DomainControllerManager [0xc46c00] doDCDiscovery: Domain Controller DC [X.X.X.X], dcping failed
