Cause

The DR Test Failover failure is due to a bug affecting the Disaster Recovery service’s ability to properly handle test failover operations.

Solution

NetApp Engineering team released a global patch on May 4, 2026, which implements an automated version of the manual mount/unmount workaround directly into the Disaster Recovery service code.

Workaround (if patch is not yet applied):

  • Manually mount and unmount the datastore associated with the DR Test Failover operation on the target vCenter before initiating the test failover. This manual step allows the test failover to complete successfully until the permanent fix (patch) is deployed.
