Applies to

  • Cloud Volumes ONTAP (CVO) in Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
    ONTAP version 9.15.1P3 and later

Issue

A Cloud Volumes ONTAP node in GCP stopped serving data, and all aggregates and volumes went offline. The following EMS and AutoSupport messages were observed:
[?]MonFebxxxx:xx:xx+0000[cvo-01:dmgr_thread:raid.disk.missing:info]: Disk 0d.22 S/N [cvo-vmdatadisk] UID [cvo-vmdatadisk] is missing from the system
[?]xxxxxx:xx:xx+0000[cvo-01:config_thread:callhome.syncm.plex:alert]: Callhome for SYNCMIRRORPLEXFAILED

Cause

GCP disk attachment was affected somehow, meaning automatic unfail of the disk did not work from the Console Agent.

Solution

The issue self resolved after some time, and GCP should be contacted for an investigation into the disk issue.
