The following error seen when attempting ONTAP upgrade:

Error:The ONTAP upgrade validation check failed due to the following errors: One or more LIFs are not on the home node, verify that all LIFs are on the home node before attempting NDU.

Cause

  • Prior to the upgrade, there is a validation health check to confirm LIFs are home.
  • If they are not home, the validation check fails.

Solution

  1. Follow the troubleshooting in Logical Interface (LIF) is not on home port to return all LIFs back to home ports.
  1. Attempt to run ONTAP upgrade again.

Additional Information
