Azure serial console repeating "Out of inodes"

Issue

The Serial console in Microsoft Azure for a CVO is repeating the following line:
pid xxxxx (*process*), uid 0 inumber xxxx on /mroot/etc/azure/WALinuxAgent/jail/var: out of inodes

Cause

This is caused by a known issue with the waagent within the Azure VM. (CONTAP-155903)

Solution

  • This is fixed in CVO versions  9.13.1P9 & 9.14.1P2.
  • A workaround is to disable the waagent temporarily.
