Aggregate unrecoverable due to deleted Azure disk

Issue

Customer removed a disk via the Azure portal and now the data aggregate that was using the disk is offline.

Cause

Initially, there was a back end Azure event that took the disk offline:

The affected disk was removed using the Azure portal portal.  The disk had been enabled with Microsoft's Soft Delete feature, but the configured retention period had been exceeded.  As such, the Azure side garbage collection had permanently removed the disk, rendering the aggregate unrecoverable due the RAID0 configuration that is inherent in all CVO clusters.

Solution

The affected aggregate could not be removed via NetApp Console as it is flagged as a 'corrupt' aggregate.  The aggregate was removed by deleting it via the CVO CLI, then the spare disks were manually removed using the Azure portal.
 
Then a new aggregate was created via NetApp Console and the associated volumes were restored from the customer's off cluster backup.
