Aggregate tiering shows a disabled state in NetApp Console and data is not moving to the cold tier (object storage).

Cause

Aggregate is not attached to storage account/object storage.

Solution

  • Create a new aggregate with tiering enabled and move the volumes. Else,
  • Attach a storage account or object store name to the existing aggregate.
cluster1::> aggr object-store attach -aggregate aggr3_cluster1 -account account-test

cluster1::> aggr object-store attach -aggregate aggr3_cluster1 -object-store-name ontap_test
