Unable to convert to capacity based licensing

Issue

  • The customer is unable to convert Cloud Volumes ONTAP (CVO) system PAYGO from node-based to capacity-based licensing. 
  • Attempt to convert fails with error message 

  'You can't convert the license for the discovered Cloud Volumes ONTAP system because the system is registered to another  account or organization.'

Cause

The working environment is associated with 2 (or more) different Cloud Manager account IDs in Cloud Manager

Solution

Please contact NetApp Technical Support or log into the NetApp Support Site to create a technical case. Reference this article for further assistance.

Internal Notes

1. Initiate a CDS JIRA ticket with the cloud architects to verify if there are account discrepancies tied to the working environment in our backend. 
2. Confirm with the customer which account association can be safely removed if there are multiple accounts
3. Have CPE remove the stale account information from the NetApp Console  backend once confirmation is received.
4. Attempt the conversion to capacity-based licensing again and verify if the issue is resolved.
