Issue

When deploying the NetApp Cinder charm on a Canonical JuJu environment the following issues are seen:

  • For a NFS volume backend, the storage pool volume cannot be mounted by Cinder:

2023-09-05 22:21:43.442 257533 ERROR os_brick.remotefs.remotefs [None req-1234-abcd-1234-abcd-12345678901 - - - - - -] Failed to mount 192.168.0.15:/cinder_nfs_share, reason: mount.nfs: Operation not permitted

  • For a iSCSI volume backend, you can run into issues when provisioning a Cinder volume from image:

2023-09-18 18:16:09.339 897149 ERROR cinder.volume.volume_utils [None req-1234-abcd-1234-abcd-12345678901 - - - -] Failed to copy image 1234-abcd-1234-abcd-1234567890 to volume: 1234-1234-abcd-abcd-1234567890: cinder.exception.VolumeBackendAPIException: Bad or unexpected response from the storage volume backend API: Unable to fetch connection information from backend: 'initiator'
