Glance images can't be properly uploaded to ONTAP nfs volume

  • Openstack Glance integrated with Cinder driver
  • RedHat Openstack installed in containers in  RedHat Openshift Container Platform (OCP)
  • Cinder driver using NFS protocol

Issue

When trying to upload a glance image in qcow2 format in an Openstack deployment, it fails with the following error:

YYYY-MM-DD hh:mm:ss ERROR glance.common.wsgi Command: sudo glance-rootwrap /etc/glance/rootwrap.conf chown 42415 /var/lib/glance/mnt/..../volume-xyxyxyxy-yyyy-zzzz-xyxy-yxyxyxyxzyax
