Applies to

  • ONTAP 9
  • Volume Move

Issue

  • After some time a volume move of a large volume with a high rate of data change appears have throughput drop to < 2 MBs (as seen in volume move show)
  • The Move State is "healthy"
  • The Bytes Sent value continues to increase
  • The Percentage Completed may regress if additional data is changed or written at the source
  • There have been no Cutovers Attempted or Times Cutover Hard/Soft Deferred
  • Example: volume move show command output shows kB/s throughput and a high estimated finish time (some lines removed for brevity).
  • Cluster::> volume move show -volume vol1 -vserver svm1

                               Vserver Name: svm1
                                Volume Name: vol1
