Trident pods not getting created on new Linux nodes

Issue

After adding nodes to a cluster, trident pods creation fails with error -
 
 Warning  Failed     5m3s                   kubelet            Error: failed to create containerd container: mount callback failed on /var/lib/rancher/rke2/agent/containerd/tmpmounts/containerd-mount1283717594: open /var/lib/rancher/rke2/agent/containerd/tmpmounts/containerd-mount1283717594/etc/passwd: no such file or directory
