Trident can not differentiate “selector/label” after upgrade

Issue

  • After upgrading trident version from 23.04 to 23.10, a selector containing ‘!=’ under parameters in the yaml configuration file was giving this error:

Failed to provision volume with storageclass "basic-economy": rpc error: code = Unknown desc = no available backends for storage class basic-economy

  • Example:

Selector:

Labrador!=Fish
