Issue

After upgrading Trident from version 25.10 to 26.06 in a lab cluster running OpenShift 4.18 and ONTAP Select 9.16.1P1, performing a backend update using the tridentctl update backend command causes Trident to remove the export policy rules from affected volumes, such as file_extended_pvc_3800e602_2c39_4a28_a3f9_37ee6de963e4 with export policy trident-eda3f4dd-65a3-43c9-8a51-c6f9753f5f57. The export policy rules are only restored after restarting the Trident controller. According to Steven Barre, this behavior was observed during lab testing and could be consistently reproduced.
