"Portal is missing LUN Number(s)" warning is output repeatedly

Applies to

  • NetApp Astra Trident 23.04 or later
  • Using ontap-san or ontap-san-economy driver
  • Selective LUN Map (SLM) is enabled

Issue

  • Logs of DaemonSet trident-node-linux output warning every 5 minutes:
level=warning msg="Portal is missing LUN Number(s): [x]." CHAPInUse=true logLayer=csi_frontend portal=<TARGET_IP> requestID=<REQUEST_ID> requestSource=Periodic sessionInfoSource=trackingInfo workflow="node_server=heal_iscsi"
  • The warning is not output for IP addresses of the node that appears in reporting-nodes of lun mapping show command.

Example:

cluster1::> lun mapping show -lun-id 5 -fields lun-id,reporting-nodes
vserver   path               igroup  lun-id reporting-nodes
--------- ------------------ ------- ------ ---------------
iscsi_svm /vol/<VOLUME>/lun0 trident 5      cluster1-01
