Answer

FlexArray configuration information can be found in several places:

  • In AutoSupport (ASUP)
    • ARRAY-CONFIG.XML - Displays information about SAN-attached storage arrays
      • Can be used to identify connected chassis serial numbers for E-series setups
    • ARRAY-PROFILE-DB.XML - Displays information about the array profile
    • ARRAY-PROFILE-PORT-DB.XML - Displays information about a storage array's target ports
    • STORAGE-PATH.XML - Displays information and statistics about the initiator ports, target ports, and initiator-target-nexus (ITNs) from the frontend FAS to the backend storage
    • DISK-PATHS.XML - Display information and statistics about the backend LUNs and the FC paths
    • STORAGE-DISK-VIRTUAL-MACHINE.XML - Currently shows mostly the disk path, but will contain important information in the future.

Note: Some of the sections might not be available on older versions of Data ONTAP

  • From the filer CLI
    • storage array show -instance - Displays information about the array profile
    • storage array config show - Displays information about SAN-attached storage arrays
    • storage array port show - Displays information about a storage array's target ports
    • storage disk show -instance - Display information and statistics about the backend LUNs and the FC paths
