Applies to

  • Switchless cluster to BES-53248 cluster switch conversion

Issue

  • Following the below procedure to migrate from 2 node switchless cluster to switched cluster with BES-53248 cluster switches:

     Migrate to a switched NetApp cluster environment using Broadcom-supported BES-53248 cluster switches

  • Each node has e0a cluster port connected to new cluster switch cs1
  • The e0b cluster ports are still connected to each other
  • There is a link error (port flapping due to faulty cable) on one of the links connected to the new switch
  • The following is seen on the affected node:

cluster1::> storage failover show
                              Takeover
Node           Partner        Possible State Description
-------------- -------------- -------- -------------------------------------
cluster1-01    cluster1-02    true     Connected to cluster1-02.
cluster1-02    cluster1-01    -        Up. Node accessible via HA-IC, but
                                       cluster access failed

  • Data may stop being served by this node or by indirect access to this node
