Issue

  • When auto negotiate is enabled, Ethernet port on the X1146A card will not link up with:

N9K-C9336C-FX2 data switch

Port speed must be hard set to come up

  • This can also occur after switch firmware upgrade
  • ONTAP will report card link down in EMS:

 [?]  Thu Sep 14 22:16:04 +0000 [cluster-01: intr: netif.linkDown:debug]: Ethernet e3a: Link down, check cable.
 [?]  Thu Sep 14 22:16:04 +0000 [cluster-01: intr: net.ifgrp.lacp.link.inactive:debug]: ifgrp a0a, port e3a has transitioned to an inactive state. The interface group is in a degraded state.
 [?]  Thu Sep 14 22:16:04 +0000 [cluster-01: vifmgr: vifmgr.portdown:debug]: A link down event was received on node cluster-01, port e3a.
