Description

  • Access to the snapshot directory (.snapshot) is enabled by default for NFS clients
  • The snapshot directory is accessible to all users with read access to the volume
  • The permissions on the snapshot directory cannot be restricted further due to the read-only nature of the snapshot filesystem
  • Administrators may exhibit concern for users' ability to access historical data
  • NFS does not offer some of the access control options available to CIFS clients through CIFS share properties and permissions
