AIX NFS client unable to access the snaphots with error "A file or directory in the path name does not exist"

Issue

  • AIX NFS client can access the .snapshot directory, but cannot list the content with following error:
 
# ls -la .snapshot
# ls -la

ls: 0653-341 The file ./daily.2020-11-03_0010 does not exist.

ls: 0653-341 The file ./hourly.2020-11-06_1805 does not exist.

ls: 0653-341 The file ./hourly.2020-11-06_1905 does not exist.

...
 
  • An attempt to access a snapshot fails:
 
# cd .snapshot/daily.2020-11-03_0010

bash: cd: daily.2020-11-03_0010 : A file or directory in the path name does not exist.
