Initializing DP relationship fails with error: Transfer failed

Issue

The following error message is displayed while attempting to initialize a SnapMirror relationship:
Transfer failed.(Replication operation request failed from Cluster Id: <source cluster ID>, Node Id:<source node ID> to Cluster Id: <destination cluster ID>, Node Id: <destination node ID> due to a network error(CSM: An operation did not complete within the specified timeout window.))

The following error message is displayed while attempting to initialize a SnapMirror resync:
ERROR smc.snapmir.resync.fail: Resync from source volume 'XXX_source' to destination volume 'XXX_destination' failed with error 'Failed to get information for source volume "'XXX_source" for confirmation.(CSM: An operation did not complete within the specified timeout window.)'

Error messages for new SnapVault that failed to initialize:
Failed to start transfer for Snapshot copy "snapmirror.0b46d215-851c-11e5-aaa6-00a0985bf139_2147484907.2015-11-12_091144". (Failed to start transfer. (Replication operation request failed from Cluster Id: 798ddbd7-96f0-11e2-8147-123478563412, Node Id: b8e9aa31-0b64-11e5-a69a-fbd1d7d7001a to Cluster Id: c1e69f7f-1f17-11e4-9c23-123478563412, Node Id: dd94b623-1cb4-11e4-a2c1-2d40099f9558 due to a network error (CSM: An operation did not complete within the specified timeout window.)))

Error messages for existing SnapVault that failed to update:
Failed to start transfer for Snapshot copy "daily.2015-11-10_0010". (Failed to start transfer. (Replication operation request failed from Cluster Id: 798ddbd7-96f0-11e2-8147-123478563412, Node Id: b8e9aa31-0b64-11e5-a69a-fbd1d7d7001a to Cluster Id: c1e69f7f-1f17-11e4-9c23-123478563412, Node Id: dd94b623-1cb4-11e4-a2c1-2d40099f9558 due to a network error (CSM: An operation did not complete within the specified timeout window.)))
