Applies to

  • SnapCenter Plug-in for Windows (SCW)
  • SnapDrive for Windows (SDW)

Issue

When mounting a LUN from Snapshot (cloning) within the same virtual Windows Host, the NTFS Volume on the LUN's partition won't come online in Windows, failing the operation.

Checking the logs, all previous parts of the operation have no issues:
  • cloning the ONTAP volume
  • mapping the LUN to ESXi igroup or physical/software iSCSI host, and
  • for RDM, mapping the new ESXi seen disk to the VM)

This effect can appear to be sporadic or almost pervasive.
