SCSQL restores database files to wrong destinations

Applies to

  • SnapCenter Plug-in for Microsoft SQL Server (SCSQL) 4.2.1P1
  • "Restore the database to an alternate host" option is selected
  • SQL Server database using FILESTREAM

Issue

  • SCSQL restores database files to wrong destinations if "filestream.hdr" exists in the specified destination path for FILESTREAM.
  • Although the restore job succeeds, the restored database is not accessible.
  • SCSQL job log (SmSql_<JobID>.log) shows an ERROR like the following example.

Example:

2020-06-23T07:46:14.3851496+00:00 ERROR SmSql_60 PID=[2692] TID=[1222] Exception in ModifydbFileListWithAlternatePaths: The file 'C:\MSSQL\USRetail_data\FSG1\Test_FileStream\filestream.hdr' already exists.
