Issue

When the clone destination server goes offline, one or more of the following symptoms may be observed:

  • When the SCSQL clone process attaches the VMDK to the SQL VM, the Virtual Machine runs the VM Reconfigure task and the SCSQL destination server VM goes offline

Note: VMware admin needs to remove the VMDK disk for the clone from the VM and reboot the VM in order to recover from the VM failure

  • VMware VM Reconfigure task takes long time to complete
  • During VM Reconfigure task the Virtual Machine stops responding to network access and reports network timeouts
  • During VM Reconfigure task the hosting ESX server reports "All paths down" (APD) event warnings. The underling NFS datastore is not disconnected from storage
