Commvault MediaAgent losing connectivity to a CIFS share

Issue

  • Backups running using Commvault are failing with the error:
"the parameter used for thecurrent operation is not supported by the Operating System, OS Drivers or the underlying Hardware"
  • This error is triggered on the MediaAgent event viewer :
{Delayed Write Failed} Windows was unable to save all the data for the file \Folder_Name\CV_MAGNETIC\V_123456\CHUNK_123456\FILE_Name.idx. The data has been lost. This error may be caused by a failure of your computer hardware or network connection. Please try to save this file elsewhere.
  • The CIFS share is accessible
  • Other MediaAgent reports no issues with this share during this time
