Answer

  • When a volume(containing LUNs) is moved from one high-availability (HA) pair to a different HA pair, LIFs must be configured on both nodes of the destination HA pair.
  • Trying to move the volume to HA pair without configured LIFs will lead to an error:

Error: command failed: The node "node" has no LIFs configured with the iSCSI or FCP protocol for Vserver "svm"

Additional Information

If the volume which is moved contains LUNs and the destination aggregate is on another HA pair, ONTAP automatically adds a HA pair to the Selective LUN Map reporting-nodes list.
Note:
If a volume is moved to a different node of the same HA pair this procedure is not required.
