Why does the entitlement risks page in ONTAP System Manager show some nodes as unlicensed for a feature, when they are per the CLI?

Answer

  • The API used by the Entitlement Risks page in SM is also leveraged by the system license entitlement-risk show command when supplying the -detail command
  • Running that command should show the same licensing state as seen in SM
  • The API in question is currently slated for deprecation in a future release, at which point ONTAP and System Manager will no longer attempt to track or show entitlement risk information
  • Because of this, any discrepancies versus the standard system license show command can be safely ignored
