Issue

RHEL timeout configuration - host disconnect and outage encountered within a few seconds of a slice reassignment cluster event
  • Red Hat Linux dev-mapper multipath is enabled in this example and has the iSCSI session set timeout to 5 seconds. This configuration expects a second path to be available to failover to after reaching the 5 second timeout.
    • Example RHEL host Failing Paths:

kernel: session10: session recovery timed out after 5 secs
kernel: device-mapper: multipath: Failing path <>.
multipathd: <> remaining active paths: 0
kernel: device-mapper: multipath: Reinstating path <>.
multipathd: <> remaining active paths: 1
