  • Data ONTAP 8.3

Issue

  • While performing an upgrade to clustered Data ONTAP 8.3, the node pauses on a 32-bit error message after reboot:
    • Example:
      ALERT:
The currently running image on this node contains obsolete capabilities which are in use by the cluster.
These capabilities must be disabled cluster-wide using the following per-capability instructions before this node can boot:

format_32bit: You must remove all 32-bit data from the cluster and disable the 32-bit aggregate support using "storage aggregate 64bit-upgrade 32bit-disable" command (privilege advanced).
    • Note:
      •  Storage aggregate 64bit-upgrade 32bit-disable -force can only be used in Data ONTAP 8.2.x.
      • If the storage system has been upgraded to Data ONTAP 8.3, the following error will be displayed:
storage aggregate 64bit-upgrade 32bit-disable –force” command is unrecognized.
