Answer

  • No, snapshots policies will only affect Snaps created by ONTAP.  Manuallly created ones will probably require scripting
  • Creating a manual snapshot with expiry-time does not remove a snapshot.
  • Customer can attempt to use Snapshot AutoDelete See Note: Snapshot policies cannot be created for manually triggered snapshots
  • Customer can use NetApp Communities Forums for assistance for a script
  • Customer can contact NetApp Account Team for Professional Services.
