Issue

netif.excessLinkInterrupts on unused down port without "total discards" counter increasing.

Example:

  • Warning message:

Netif.excesslinkinterrupts: excessive link status change occurred on network interface e0b

  • Command: sysconfig -a show the port is unused with an empty transceiver:

 e0b MAC Address:    00:00:00:00:00:00 (auto-10g_sr-fd-down)

  • the port "Total discards" did not increase from command: ifstat -a:
