Issue

Service processor (SP) firmware upgrade is hung/ not completed when checked from 'system service-processor image update-progress show'

  • Post performing a SP firmware upgrade, the status show displays the new firmware version; however, the 'system service-processor image update-progress show' command still shows that the upgrade is in progress.
  • When attempting to upgrade the firmware again, there is an error stating that the upgrade is already in progress.
  • The following errors are displayed occasionally:

splog_main: splog.warnings:error]: splogd is running in degraded mode and having difficulty getting splogs from the SP FW.

sp.userlist.update.failed:error]: Error updating SP user information, communication error (op=1, action=6).

spmgmt.driver.timeout:error]: The software driver for the Service Processor (SP) detected a problem: Unable to update SP network information at this time.

  • SP configuration info becomes "unknown" on "sysconfig -a" output.
