Node unresponsive via console or Service Processor and reseat does not resolve

  • AFF systems
  • FAS systems
  • SP (Service Processor)
  • BMC (Baseboard Management Controller)


  • Node goes down (with or without partner takeover) and fails to boot.
  • Serial console connection may yield no output.
  • Connection via SP/BMC may also fail.
  • Physical inspection may show the controller has no lit LEDs and appears powered off despite connections to known good power.
  • The motherboard and all FRUs have been reseated and the issue remains.
