Cisco Nexus 3132C, 3232C: "TFTP get operation failed:Read-only file system" while firmware copy

Issue

  • While copying the firmware file into Nexus 3132C model switch, the operation fails with the below message

           Nexus-3132C-sw1# copy tftp: bootflash: vrf management 
Enter source filename: nxos.7.0.3.I4.9.bin
Enter hostname for the tftp server: 10.20.27.123
Trying to connect to tftp server......
TFTP get operation failed:Read-only file system

  • A similar message would be seen on switch event logs
