Applies to

  • ONTAP 9
  • Infinite Volumes

Answer

  • Prior to ONTAP 9.5 you could apply Unix and Windows permissions to objects on Infinite Volumes.
  • The Infinite Volume must be created on an ONTAP version prior to 9.4 as the ability to create Infinite Volumes was removed in ONTAP 9.4, Infinite Volumes were removed starting with ONTAP 9.5.
  • ONTAP 9.5 and newer does not have an equivilant option to allow both Unix and Windows permissions to be evaluated on files/folders on the same time.
