Applies to

  • DS4243 / DS4246 (IOM3 to IOM6 upgrade)
  • ONTAP 9

Issue

  • After IOM3 to IOM6 upgrade, SAS-connect health subsystem reports degraded
  • Health alerts report Health Monitor process nchm: SinglePathToDiskShelf_Alert to all connected shelves
  • Active IQ SAS-SHELF reports missing path shelves as Unknown shelf geometry
  • SAS ports connected to the missing paths report <UP> with all PHYs enabled in SYSCONFIG-A but list no shelves underneath
  • SAS-EXPANDER-MAP reports the other path with unknown/missing shelves

Example: 0a should report multiple shelves (instead only reports one and with incorrect ID 0), 0b 1 shelf (missing entirely), and 0c multiple shelves (reports 2 with ID 0, which is incorrect and there should be additional shelves listed)
