Is there a way to skip the fingerprint phase during performing a privileged delete on a Snaplock volume?

Answer

  • No, the fingerprint process is necessary because the privileged delete feature needs the ability to disambiguate (in a crash situation) between a file that was not deleted and a file that is deleted and replaced with a new file with the same name or contents.
  • It is expected to take a much longer time to complete fingerprint operation as the file size increases and the process must be completed before privileged delete to be completed successfully.
