How to remove SnapLock Enterprise volumes from a ONTAP cluster

Description

  • ONLY unexpired Volumes with SnapLock Enterprise can be removed.  SnapLock Compliance Volumes CAN NOT be removed until the expiry-time is met.
  • Refer to Differences between Compliance and Enterprise modes for functionality and capabilitiy
  • The Process can be broken down into a few steps. The privileged delete is not necessary when deleting volume(s) with unexpired retention times.
  • Remove and release SnapMirror relationship(s)

  • Offline the target SLE volume(s)

  • Perform volume delete <vserver_name> -volume <volume_name>

  • Perform volume recovery-queue purge to remove the volume(s)
