VSCAN does not connect after ONTAP upgrade

Applies to

  • ONTAP 9.6 or below upgraded to ONTAP 9.7 or above
  • -or- ONTAP 9.7 upgraded to ONTAP 9.8
  • AV Connector 1.0.4
  • Vscan

Issue

  • After ONTAP upgrade (9.5 to 9.7) to fix bug 1229243, Vscan servers are disconnected with no reason provided
    cluster::> vserver vscan connection-status show-extended-stats -instance
  • AV connector and Vscan Windows services are running normally
  • AV connector test connection poll test and pings are successful to the cluster or SVM management LIF
  • Vscan Windows service was restarted with no change and logs state there is no connection
  • In AV Connector debug log : 
    01/24/21-17:03:06.785Z [Pipe: CLUSTER.DOMAIN.com, vserverCLUSTER][r] CreateNamedPipe failed with 3. closingQ: [0]
    01/24/21-17:03:06.816Z Not even one usable LIF for [vserverCLUSTER], abandoning open
